Answer From CMI

Here is the response from CMI regarding the cable bill (if you guys remember, this is the one my sister opened up using my SS# at her home addy!!!).  I sent a DV letter:

"Our office in receipt of your letter regardng the above referenced account.  We contacted our client, Time Warner Cable, and advised them of your letter.  Our client advised this account has an outstanding balance of $627.73 for service and fees prior to the disconnect date of January 8,2004.  An itemization was sent on February 25, 2008."

Randel Phelps
Director of Collections"

Do you think they are sending ME and itemization of the bill?  I would hope this itemization would clearly show the address where the service was installed, I could show proof that I NEVER lived at that particular address, and could also show them that at that same time, I had service at another location!!!!!

Any suggestions as to what to do next?  This is driving me crazy!!!!!

I'd wait a few more days to see if you receive a copy of the bill and what else comes.

To me, that is not validation. But depends on what all they send.

Give it to the end of the week at least.

Re: Answer From CMI

IMO, you'd have to file a police report stating identity theft against your sister bc, if you knew about the account and didn't close it, it's kinda like ok'ing it.  How long was the service active?  Di you know before the account was closed that she had opened it in your name?  How long did she pay it before it went to collections?

Re: Answer From CMI

I would contact TimeWarner directly.  Give them all the information you can showing that you never lived at that address.  Get them to pull it from CMI and delete from your credit reports!!

I had an old AT&T bill that WAS mine.  I contacted AT&T and agreed to pay them directly.  They pulled from CMI and had them delete it!!

Good Luck!!
