Any luck with recent lates removed with GW's?

I am wondering if anyone here has any luck getting recent lates removed with GW letters.  I don't know how much hope I have but I would REALLY like to get two removed from my report.
I talked to a woman on the phone who said that she could get rid of all of the lates on our reports for the last seven years for $1200!!!!!!  Yeah, whatever!!!  I am just really concerned about the recent ones and then I will work on the ones from 7 years ago!Smiley Wink

Ok, you have given me some hope.  I got a "no way" letter from Chase but I will try again.  The late was only this December so it is very recent.  And the other one is for Maytag back in October of last year.  Otherwise, I am pretty clean, I think.

I had good luck with BofA and Dillard's.  I've just sent one to JCP.

I'm not worried about the lates from years ago, they're not hurting me.

Fish, were yours very recent?  I have seen some people have success with Chase and others not.  I will just be persistent, I guess.

Yes BofA was five lates middle of 07 and Dillard's was a couple of years ago.

I'd like to gw Chase for a couple of dh's....but they scare me, lol.

I've heard excellent things about JCPenney and Macy's.

My Sears was from 2004 & Kohl's 2005, so they're not a concern.

I think any GW is hit or miss. Definitely worth a try, but just don't expect it to work.

I work for a big bank, and my GF had two late payments last year on a credit card through them. She even referenced me in her GW letters and sent them to specific collections managers that I found on the internal website, but so far she's had no luck getting them removed.

Re: Any luck with recent lates removed with GW's?

GE Money Bank/Mervyn's sent me a letter saying they would remove all lates from my file, but they are still on my CRs. The letter is from December. I called them a few weeks ago and the CSR was rude and not very helpful. I called again last week, and the CSR who answered put in a request for research and apologized for the inconvenience, so I am hopeful that will take care of it and my CRs will be updated. I did not have luck with GW requests from Providian, so I am going to try again. I want to apply for a mortgage very soon so I'm getting kind of anxious!!!

Re: Any luck with recent lates removed with GW's?

Hi fishbjc,

I've been lurking and reading for a couple of months but after seeing your response I had to post. I just received a no from BoA for a GW I sent them.  Would you care to share who you addressed your letter to?
Thanks,
J

Re: Any luck with recent lates removed with GW's?

I noticed last week that Summit removed a paid collection after a good will letter.  Unfortunately it didn't change my score too much, but it does make me feel good.  Summit was very easy to work with.
