So I keep my credit reports on ice and thaw as needed. I've never had any issues freezing or thawing EX instantaneously online -- even if I didn't have their randomly generated PIN.
Lately, though, I haven't been able to do anything online -- I keep getting a message indicating that I have to snail mail copies of documents (ID, utility bill etc) in order to place or lift a freeze.
I also happen to be part of their free credit monitoring where they will provide you with your monthly true FICO score.
However, recently, they have started to push a "paid subscription" product called "credit lock". I am wondering if suddenly being required to use snail mail for credit freeze/thaw is an attempt to push people into subscribing to their credit lock product.
Has anyone else had any issues with credit freezes/thaws on Experian online?
Thanks in advance....
ETA to add: I've tried high and low to call EX directly to try to resolve this but can't get ahold of a live human to save my life!
Thanks -- I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and get verified via snail mail (OH, the HORROR!)

Unfroze mine for 24 hours day before yesterday. Had no issues.
