If anyone has EX on ice Cred Sesame will not be able to pull thru the freeze, hence no updating. CS is reported to be one of the better FAKOs around.

If you have a clean Experian report with no inquiries and some age, Credit Sesame can give an extremely accurate approximation of your EX 08 Fico score.

For anyone who doesn't fit that profile, it can be one of the least accurate FAKOs. Anyway, that has been my experience. YMMV.

Re: Anyone else use Credit Sesame?

Sesame's Fako is actually pretty close to my Fico score. But I don't use these freebie sites for scores. I use them for information. Since they haven't updated anything in three months, that makes them useless for my purposes.

Re: Anyone else use Credit Sesame?

Credit Sesame uses Experian's National Equivalency Score.  There have been studies on other "not to be mentioned" sites that equate these scores being closer to FICO scores than any of the other FAKO's.

EQ Fico 8 - 850
TU Fico 8 - 850
EX Fico 8 - 850

Re: Anyone else use Credit Sesame?

I have no clue as to what some of you are calling "useless"?  I have Credit Sesame for monitoring and monitoring ONLY.  I don't even pay attention to the FAKO score to see how close it comes to anything...period.  I know it isn't accurate so why waste brain matter thinking about it?  As for monitoring, they are on point with my profile.   I just got an alert overnight of my Chase card hitting my EX.  That is right on time.  Chase just notified me that my statement was ready about 3-4 days ago.  So I think that is good?  Meanwhile, Experian has not notified me of anything, and I am paying for them!

As for advertisements, cmon guys.  It's a free site.  Free.   And that means that they have to make their money some way.  All of the free sites do it.  It's part of getting something for nothing.  You have to give up just a bit of something for something for free.

Re: Anyone else use Credit Sesame?

exdirect claims to use 'fico' scores, and they have always been t its to my myFico EX 08.

I like the exdirect service over all the other credit monitoring sites, including this one.  $20 mo. though.

Re: Anyone else use Credit Sesame?

Go to credit.com and compare they also pull EX and update every month and it's free, a little more detailed, for me both scores are the same sesame and credit.com. hope this helps. For Equifax, go to quizzes.com their scores are free too, that way you can compare with the one you get from creditors, this has been working for me okay and they are the same score from capital one.

Re: Anyone else use Credit Sesame?

Credit.com and credit sesame have my scores 100+ points higher than fico scores.  I only wish my scores were 762 like they say LOL   If I want to have a nice little credit score dream instead of a nightmare, I go look at their scores lol  As far as anything else on those sites, they are worthless to me.  I might get one or two alerts a month.  Myfico blows up on a regular basis.

Re: Anyone else use Credit Sesame?

I use CS but prefer credit.com

Free monthly pull and EX Vantage 3.0

So I get all three Vantage scores plus all three FICOs here

Re: Anyone else use Credit Sesame?

There is one worse and that's credit.com. They also give you the exact same EX FAKO which is useless. The number is very different from my EX FICO. But they push even harder for you to buy a service.

Edit: This is from the iphone app. Maybe the site is better. I'll check that.
