Apartment Hunting/Hard Hits

I'm sorry if this question has been answered before here, but I can't find it. I need to do some apartment hunting in LA, where it is likely I will have to put in a few apps before I find a place. Will submitting several apt. apps (and the accompanying credit inquiries) hurt my scores as I look for a place? If so, is there a way around this? Thank you.

Re: Apartment Hunting/Hard Hits

Appartment apps don't hurt your credit history. They will be soft pulls.

Re: Apartment Hunting/Hard Hits

Wow, I've never had an apartment hit me with an inq. I've lived in 7 different rental properties or apartments since I was in college and none of them have pulled hard. I'm sorry if I mislead anyone, but from my experience, none have pulled hard in the past. Maybe that's just my area? I'm in Dallas.

Northern VA - Hard pull from my leasing office when I moved from a 2 bedroom apartment (where I had been for 3 years) to a 3 bedroom in the same complex!

Re: Apartment Hunting/Hard Hits

Most will do a hard pull. I suggest asking what score is needed first. I am sure the manager can inform you. The last few places I have rented were able to tell me upfront. I think it saves time and application fees.
