Anyone ever experienced better luck applying for a card in the store vs. online?
I typically apply for cards online. Although there were a couple where I applied in store.
Were you approved in the store also? I have a purchase to make from Gander Mountain today and was just wondering if there's a benefit either way.
Working at Best Buy, the associate inputs the application and during the application it asks "How much is the initial balance" (Typically how much they are spending during this transaction)
I ALWAYS put $0 because if they are spending a specifit amount they will only get approved for that much, and knowing Citi they are semi-hard to get a CLI + HP. EVERYONE else will limit them to their balance because they aren't aware.
Applying at home you can always call right after if you need to recon.
BUT if you're requesting a CLI I would go in because associates call for you, and usually when you have them do it in store Citi knows youre about to purchase, so they are more intitled to do it.
I had this lady one time apply in store and got denied, she came to me a day after saying she applied at home and got approved.
Good Info. Thanks!
And since Best Buy always offers financing options, you can always call Citi to extend them, for my Mac it only qualified for 12 months, I called and had them extend it to 24 months. You can do this for pretty much anything.
I have the updates for these following months finacing insentives, I've been meaning to post them but they aren't active untl Nov 1st.

Does not matter as the method of applying does not change your credit or income.

Makes sense. We need more folks like you that actually try to help the consumer.
