Appreciate the post HTSU. I expect a nice drop in scores soon. I am scheduled for closing on my new construction on Monday (1st mortgage and HELOC). Wednesday, I am closing on an investment property. When those three hit, I am going to be in trouble. Unless I get four more CCs, I am going to constantly get killed with too many accounts with balances.

Also, is it confirmed that large HELOCs are NOT counted in util? I am going to have a $150M HELOC and will carry a balance for at least a year.

Thanks Timothy, I don't want to have to go back to credit hell, b/c my scores drop to the 500s.

$50K ($50M to you!) appears to be the safe number; possibly over $40K will do.

Wow hauling, that's a big drop in points! I just app'd and got 5 new inqs on ex. I recieved:

DressBarn
Kohls
Talbots(hopefully)
Amex Denied
I will see how much my score dropped from EX in april. My EQ only lost 1 point for the new accounts.

I think it's greatly influenced by my score bucket. Long-history people aren't supposed to start vacuuming up every bit of plastic they see!

I now have another reason to pull scores at least monthly, as I want to note when I get any score bumps for aging. Luckily, I have many choices of CC's to use for the scores. Smiley Very Happy

Yes hauling, I had a feeling it was because of the "bucket" you're in.. I'm not in that bucket yet so I think That's why my score didnt suffer. Mabey it's good that I did all my apping now before I get into my new bucketSmiley Wink

Smart idea, and I would have done the same if I hadn't had steam rising off a really, really fresh late. Smiley Tongue

I'll sit for 6 weeks then pull my scores again. By then all 3 CRA should be fully reporting activity on the one paid off vehicle, the newly acciured vehicle and the 2 new cards. I expect a drop but I expect full recovery as early as May AND I have enough tools to manipulate growth in the next couple years.
I needed 3 cards. I don't seem to be nagged to go after more. I don't seem to be trying to rack up a bunch of charges. I guess I'll just sit here and watch what happens.
