Authorized User for CC! HELP! Collection

So I was the authorized user for one of my dad's credit card account LONG time ago, but he decided not to pay his bills for some reason. It got sent to collection agency and its showing up on my account, my score dropped big time because of this. Is there any ways I can get rid if it? This happened a year ago. My FICO score is at 629 right now, I really want to get a mortgage loan in a couple of years. I've heard a lot people saying I need at least a 680 to get a decent rate, what would be my best interest right now in terms of raising my credit scores?

Ah...you've just found the dark side to being an AU...

If you father asks the CCC to remove you as an AU, the account should vanish from your CR.

DH was an AU on one of my cards.  Since Fico08 will go into effect, I called BofA and had him removed....bingo...vanished within 30 days from all 3 agencies.

Re: Authorized User for CC! HELP! Collection

okay, I called in as a AU and told them to remove me from that bad debt account. he agreed to do so and told me he will mail something out to me as a confirmation or something. do I have to do anything else to make sure it will get removed from my account?

Re: Authorized User for CC! HELP! Collection

You can dispute online  by mail CMRRR or phone or fax.

If you call  just say it isn't mine!  and get the name of the person that takes the dispute  the date & time   and the dispute # (or whatever they call it)

This is a simple dispute.....I would do it online IF you can't get through on the phone.

I must dispute it with all 3 credit bureaus? I can't seem to find their contact numbers, do you mind link it to me?
