For sure all Chase takes a name and that's it it shows up.....

remember the CRA are about data, it's their business to FIND stuff about you

collect it, can it and sell

The data they can link a more 'free' to them product they can sell.....they have a sweet business, selling 'rumors' about usSmiley Tongue

Re: Authorized Users

I'm an AU on my wife's Amex and it began reporting across the board on the second month. They did require my SSN during the request to be added as an authorized user. On my reports the account shows up as an authorized account but seems to impact credit no different than my own personal cards. Our goal was to take advantage of the BCE spending categories on the card, but to also lower my utilization. Even without an SSN I'm sure yours will report but I'm not certain.

Re: Authorized Users

Any bank can add an AU with any two pieces of information about the person.  SSN is not always required.  (from my experience)

True but don't confuse adding a AU with reporting to CRAs....just so ppl know some banks will of course add a AU to

your account as a user as a courtsey that does NOT automatically equal reporting to a CRA regarding the AUs CR

Re: Authorized Users

I just added my boyfriend to a few of my cards to build his credit. Chase never asked for his SSN, but When I called they said they always report for AU's. My BF has a very common name, and we don't share an address, so we shall see!

Re: Authorized Users

Pretty simple.  Just have her make you an AU.  My hubby and I do that to our cards.  Works well.  Also just made our eldest daughter an AU on the Plat Amex.  We were also able to limit her expenses and get her card declined if she went over the limit we set.

I would call or do a chat.  Only way to report is with ss#.

So I was recently added to my fiance's CC's as an authorized user we did it mainly to boost my credit because mine isn't so good but hers is. Both banks did not ask for Date of Birth or Social Security number. It was Chase and Wells Fargo. They said we could call CRA's ourself and tell them what exactly does this mean? I would like these accounts to show up on my CR so how can I do this?

Creditors do not necessarily need the info in order to report.  Give it time to report before you worry about it.  Can't speak to Wells Fargo but many prior threads  mention that Chase reports for AU's even though they don't request SSN.  Don't overlook prior threads as a resource.
