I added a family member to a card i've had for 3 years, my crapitol one card of just 1,000 limit. Not one late payment and a balance of $3.00 - $3.00 because they charge a protection fee or maintenace fee on the EXACT day the statement cuts so that it is always reporting a $3.00 balance. I never use the card. It finally reported on his report but only gave him 1 point!!
Its his only credit card reporting right now and we're waiting for my other cards i've added him to to report. He has a little bit of a mess on his report i dont want to share his personal details.
Is a 1 point boost normal? and will we see more of a change once another statement cuts or once the other cards start to surface? Thanks all!!!
It would depend on what is on the CR. Does Cap One even report CL?
With-out knowing more details it is hard for any one to really comment.
Right now if his or her credit report is in bad shape as you suggested, they should be thankful.
Thankful you were willing to add them to your account.
Thankful they didn' t lose additional points for change in AAOA.
Thankful the card reported to the credit bureaus, as not all credit cards today report AU cards.
AU cards can help scores depending on many other factors on credit report. I have seen AU cards hurt some and lower credit scores and I have seen them help increase scores. AU cards have several reports to consider, the original card holders activity on the card, age of the card, credit limit on the card, etc.. etc... Then it has to look at the AU card holders reports. How many points an AU card can cause is based on different factors.

Yes, they report the cl
Thank you for the response, my family member is very appreciative. I was the one aggrivated about the 1 point boost--i wanted to help. Unfortunately, I don't feel its my place to add more details about his report, but thanks tho ![]()
