Hello,
I added my mom as an athorized user on my capitalone quicksilver account, four days later she got a hard inquiry from capitalone. Is this correct?? Capitalone is stupid and they're saying the CRA's get to decide if they do a hard pull or not, which doesn't make any sense. it seems that they have no idea what is going on. Should I call CRA's? do a dispute?

If in fact she did receive a HP, that is very unusal to say the least. I'd make sure I'd have her pull whatever report that is saying that there was a HP to verify that there actually was one. Calling the CRAs and/or disputing the inquiry wont do her any good. It's entirely up to CapOne what type of report that they pull, if they even pull one. They're the one that deicdes whether it is coded as a SP or HP.
I've never seen an AU get a HP from any lender. I have a bunch of AUs. No HP from anyone. Something doesn't jive here.
Its one HP regardless, not the end of the world. You can dispute, if you feel its necessary.

While I agree that something doesn't sound right, disputing the HP, if in fact there was one, will yield nothing positive. Needs to deal with C1 if it turns out there was a HP.
what frustates me is that capitalone doesn't have an answer for this, they keep saying that it's the CRAs the ones responsible and they can't give me any info regarding the authorized user credit report, even though that's not my question to them. Been trying to find someone form them that knows what i'm talking about, ugh

I pull her credit report and it does show an inquiry by capitalone but the account was'nt added to her report ( I know that sometimes it takes time for it to show up) but the hard inquiry is there. Capital one is of no help

Before anyone gets too worked up and wastes a lot of time on the phone, your mother needs to pull her credit report(s) to verify that there was in fact a HP.
Edit-made post before you made yours above. Is there any way that your mother didn't apply herself for a card? Also, from where did you pull the report? CreditKarma by chance?

I'm positive she didn't apply for a card. She always asks me to help her apply for things since she's not very computer savvy. The alert came from creditkarma, but She has a myfico account, that's where I got the credit report from and it did show as a hard inquiry.

Then I'm truly perplexed. I know C1 can be frustrating to deal with but unfortunately that's who you are going to have to deal with it. I don't think disputing ti will do any good but I guess it can't hurt either.
