Authorized user

I have an authorized user account that has a balance of 87% of the limit. Now this card shows on my TU account and my score is 571. It doesn't show on my EQ account and my score is 721.
This card does give me 9yrs of history but I think it is really bringing my score down.
Should I ask my mother to take me of this card?

Please respond with All helpful answers. Thank you!

Re: Authorized user

Revolving Utilization has a significant impact -- not just on scoring but on the assessment of the risk of your credit profile -- falling under Amounts Owed.

Unless she can get that balance down quickly get yourself removed.  30% is the generally suggested max.  90% and above is considered maxed.  At 87% that account is just short of being maxed.

Take a look at the link above.  How much weight does Amounts Owed typically have?  How much does Length of Credit History?

Also keep in mind that accounts where one is an AU are not necesarily always considered.  Being an AU on a TL in excellent shape can help in some cases but you really need to focus on building your own tradelines and addressing the issues in your reports.

Don't conflate account and report.  Accounts show up on your reports.

Re: Authorized user

That's is what I figured. Even simulators show my score going up significantly if I remove it.

Thank you for your advice :0)
