BBB and AG complaints

I have an account with Palisades Collections from a car loan with Drive Financial. Drive is still reporting a balance even though it says sold to another company. It should show a 0 balance and a charge off. Palisades has never contacted me. They were changing the DOFD every month. It went from Sep o7 to Jan 08. If it should be when I first defaulted with Drive, that should be July 07. Since they supposedly own the account I am not sure what the DOFD should be. At any rate, I filed a complaint with my AG and the BBB against both companies. (Drive did some pretty underhanded things, used the cops to come get the car then sent the letter for the sale under my daughters name to another address, knowing full well where I live, then was stupid enough to give me copies after I filed a complaint). On top of that I lost my clearance at work due to this. BBB says Palisades won't respond to their requests. I've DV'd them. Under "Palisades", they have no license to collect in my state. The AG says they are taking the matter seriously and have given them (Drive) 14 days to respond. Anyway, at least someone is listening. Hopefully, something good comes of this.

let us know how this goes for you. I've got a DV out, 3 dispute letters, one for each CRA, I've got a BBB complaint against the OC and the CA and hopefully if it doesn't bounce back to me a fraud packet sent to the OC. If i get the fraud packet back unsigned for I'll send it again but I'm getting tired of this. How do you go about contacting the attorney general?

If it were me I would be looking for a good attorney!!!!!  I would sue for loss of job & everything else.

The OC is the DOFD and DOLA that you would go by....do you have CR showing change of dates.

When anyone or any CA is assigned or BUYs the account the DOFD does not change!!!!!

So you have Palisades for those violations. IMO the BBB is worthless!  Notify not only your AG.....file a complaint with the AG in the state where they are ( it was NJ when I had them) and file with  www.ftc.gov

Their changing the DOFD or DOLA is a federal violation!

Go to your states AG web page. There should be a online complaint area. Mine was very generous with the amount of information you could put in.

The are still in NJ as far as I know. I have never received any thing from them. I got the address from the CRA. I am in the military and am going to the Area Defense Counsel and the JAGs office. They can not represent me but can tell me where to go. Yes, I still have all of the CRs.

Yes they can help you BUT don't be surprised if you know more then they do on some things only because you have been on these threads!

They know just about everything that will help you because of being in the military!!!!  We do not know many of them.

I know several laws were broken and I lost my clearance over it and quite possibly my 22 year career. I am not a happy person. I am angry and will do whatever I can to see both of these companies get what they deserve in the legal department.

I know for a FACT that the AG in NJ was & still might be investigating them!!!

I would check online for attorneys that practice just this type of law ( federal law)   The AG will go after them BUT you need more  much more!!!

Thanks for the heads up. I just complained to the FTC online and will complain to AG sometime next week.

I just ran a new CR from all three CRAs and Palisades is  GONE GONE GONE!!!!!
