BOA closed new checking account after 3 days

A few months ago I tried applying for a credit card through BOA, they denied multiple times because of the charge off I have with Ch3se.

This week I applied for a new checking account using their bonus to establish a relationship. Just found out today they closed the account, and I'm assuming its for the reason above. Any way to recon this or am I blacklisted from BOA until my CO fallsoff?

I wouldn't think your checking account would have anything to do with cc charge off.
Do you have anything bad reporting on ChexSystems or Telecheck?

Call the customer service number, they'll probably transfer you to risk dept. I had the same issue and it was because they couldn't verify my ID... very odd, but they were able to resolve it at a branch. If you're denied for Chexsystems or EWS request the report with a copy of the denial letter, this saves your free annual report for another occasion.

That does seem strange. I would think that if it were a Chexsystem/Telecheck situation, the account would have never been opened to begin with (this is an all too familiar situation with me *blush* )

I work for a bank/brokerage firm and we do the same thing. If negative credit information is reported by Equifax, we will close a checking or brokerage account as a business decision. I suppose it has to do with the level of risk the client poses due to their likeliness of bouncing checks or having problems keeping a positive account balance.

I would imagine BoA has a similar risk model and makes their decisions accordingly. Some banks are more risk adverse than others. Perhaps a local CU would be better to start with? You'll certainly get better service, we know that.
