Baddie from 2002

It was a 30 day late pay on a Cap. One card. My question is should I leave it to rest or is it worth sending a GW letter?

Re: Baddie from 2002

IMHO - If the account is open and in good standing, I would go for the GW. You might see a score bump if the baddie is removed.
10/08 - EX 795 / EQ 816 / TU 806
6/09 - EQ 763 / TU 770

Starting Score (2/2010): TU-767, EQ-745
Current Score (2/2010): TU-767, EQ-745
Goal Score (12/2010): TU-780, EQ-790

Re: Baddie from 2002

If the account is closed, they may delete the entire TL instead of just the baddie if they choose.  In this case, you have to decide if you can live with the TL gone for your average credit age.

It's not hurting you anymore and will fall off in 2009 - I say leave it alone.

Re: Baddie from 2002

I also have late(s) on CapOne. Mine are from 4/02 and 6/02. One is 30 days and the other 90 days. To date, I'm still sending GWs, but come January, I will stop out of fear it will get deleted. It is older than my avg. age by 3+ years.
