Balance Transfer - NFCU

Hey guys, so I just did the promo for NFCU 0% APR on balance transfer. The very first time I did this was when BoA sent me the BT checks, I had the money sent to my checking that way I could pay off the card.

However, doing it all online, I did a BT from my Chase to my NFCU and the balance on my Chase still the same. So, does that mean that I now have to pay off both balances from the NFCU and Chase? The rep told me on the phone, where do you want to send to check to for Chase, I didn't know they would send it to them because it was done electronically. I'm just confuse to what has happened. Please help, thanks!

Re: Balance Transfer - NFCU

How long ago did you do the balance transfer from Chase to NFCU? If you didn't receive a notice indicating additional information was needed or that the balance transfer was not successful, then it may just mean that there's a timing difference and you'll have to wait.

I don't know about Chase but Navy Federal is good with balance transfers and usually have them completed in a week if they can send the receiving account an electronic payment as oppose to a physical check however, I personally would continue to pay at least the minimum amount due on the account you're paying off with the balance transfer if the payment due date is approaching. You can always request a refund of any credit balance from your creditors. There is a one or two day lag that I notice with Navy Federal, I didn't see the money deducted from my NFCU credit card account immediately after the request of the transfer was submitted but within 24/48 hours the balance was reduced.

Re: Balance Transfer - NFCU

Hey Chrissy, I remember I did the BT transfer application on the 26 of Feb, I didnt check until today that the Navy Fed has the balance of what I wanted to transfer from Chase. So, now I gotta wait? Its been a week now.
