Hi,
I am new to the forum. So much good information here.
Recently I had my home on the market. Had worked for years to get my debts paid and up my score. I finally did that. In a devastating turn of events, I lost my twin brother and I let a med bill go unpaid and bam, took my credit score down enough to prevent me from purchasing the home of my dreams.
I don't know my exact FICO score. Should I sign up for Score Watch to get it?
My mortgage broker told me to pay the med collection and I did. I paid it two days after it posted on my CR. Should I still try to submit a GW to have it completely removed even though I have already paid it?
My biggest problem is I have minimum TL's. At the time this happened in fact, I had nothing other than my mortgage payment which has been on time/ no lates for 6 yrs. My car was paid of 2 years ago. So, I cosigned a loan with my mom--she has impeccable credit--will this help me or is this one of those things that is going to take 6 months or longer to make a difference.
I have no credit cards. Would it be better for my mom to add me as a joint/authorized user to her long standing Discover card or should I app for a secured card with Orchard?
I only needed to bring my score back up 22 pts or so and I don't know the fastest way to do this. I am a bit anxious to get my house back on the market and move before my child starts the next school year. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
