Best Advice?

Hello!  I have been doing my own "credit repair" for 2 years now.  Basically sending online & hard copy letter disputes.  Some things have dropped and others have remained.  So then I start paying Collection debts off, etc., thinking that will help my score.  No change in FICO score.  But my mind feels better about doing the right thing by my debts.  Should I send GW letters to those.Wish I had known about the payment negotiating letter - if delete before now.  Any advice here?

Next question ...I have an IRS lien that was filed but I was on a payment plan with IRS.  Disputed this many times with the CRA's and get no results.  So I dispute directly with IRS to remove and receive a letter stating they show me making payments and that I don't have a lien, etc.  So I sent the IRS letter to all 3 CRA's and still they do not remove.  I'm so frustrated.

Also, is it better to just Hire a Credit repair co or continue as I have been.  I have several negative items being removed between now & June.  Should I just be patient?

THANKS!!!

Re: Best Advice?

I would just be patient and wait until June. Sounds like you've been doing pretty good on your own. :-)

I would start sending GW letter's to those collection's that were paid. Even though they are now paid, they will not raise your scores.

The dispute to the CRA's on the tax lien, may have gotten the previously investigated/verified notation. You may have to be a bit more aggressive sending them dispute's. If it fails again, send them a MOV.

I wouldn't hire someone to do credit repair. You can save money and work on items yourself.

The negative's due to fall off, you can let them drop. Some have disputed with the CRA's as 'obsolete' and they have dropped sooner since they were very close anyway.

Re: Best Advice?

WTG on getting some resolution.  Be patient, and continue doing what you've been doing.  No sense in paying someone else to do something you can already accomplish on your own.

Keep sending the IRS letters to the CRAs and follow up with the MOV letter.  It should get their attention.

Keep your head up, June is just around the corner.

Thanks.  Does anyone have a sample of a MOV letter?

Re: Best Advice?

GW Letter's going out tomorrow.  Is there a time frame I should wait to hear back before I send more.  From what I see in the forum, just gotta flood the letters.  Not just send one and "see what happens."  Or just accept a refusal letter to remove, etc.

THANKS A BUNCH!!!
