Best Identity Protection Services?

I am currently on a free year with All Clear ID due to our Friends at Target, but Sams Club has a good deal on Lifelock.

I also hear Protect my ID from Experian is pretty good, but more expensive.

Does anybody have input on Lifelock, and is it harder to APP with it, or get pre approvals at Card sites with it. Thanks All

Curious about this: doesn't experian only protect your experian credit report? what about the other bureaus?

Lifelock is a joke. The rep admitted to me they don't have the ability to catch the vast majority of transactions. The best way to protect your identity is to freeze your credit reports. That way, you prevent the fraud instead of relying on a third-party to notify you after the fraud has occurred.

I think you are right, but what I am trying to figure out, is by freezing your CR's or using lifelock, will it be more dificult to check pre qual sites or app for new legitimate credit?

Re: Best Identity Protection Services?

You can always temporarily unfreeze your credit reports when you're ready to apply for credit. But yes, a credit freeze prevents you, or anyone else, from apping for credit in your name. That's the point!
