I had to Google...
wow.
ETA: Did some more digging and he went from "190+" 2/20/2018 to "pushing 400" on 3/2/2018!?!
That is some serious apping holy crap!
Impressive. I wonder if there is a max threshold for INQ where the negative effects top out?

https://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Card-Approvals/AX-Delta-Gold-Approved-OMG-I-m-on-fire-and-sm...He used to go on sprees because he was on a quest to get to IIRC $500K total CL. Every time he got an approval he would post with "How do you like me now?". He did have a bunch of cards, again from memory some good ones with nice limits but also a lot of toy approvals. Last I remember he had gone on another spree of somewhere around 6 cards with an approval and was waiting for outcomes on the rest, and soon afterward vanished.
That is nuts!
But funny too.
He was pushing "400 combined bureau inquiries" but later in the thread said he had "25 bank cards and counting."
Lol ... wonder what his DENIAL rate looked like?
I'd never want to manage $500K in mostly toy limits!
That's why I aim for high limits on each individual card, a much simpler way to do it!
It does make you wonder where some of these members go.
I look back at old threads from 2, 5, 10 years ago and I see profiles that were very active for awhile and then *poof* ... nada.

@AverageJoesCredit wrote:Seeing a recent approval in the Approvals section that generated 9 approvals in 2 weeks, i was stunned to see that many cards applied for and approved in such a short period of time. Especially in the current credit environment where lenders are hawkeshly watching ones report.
Just curious as to whats biggest spree you may have seen or done. I may have apped 2 or 3 cards at once, honestly dont remember but this was also way pre Covid. I do remember a poster who wanted to app like 30 cards or something like that lol.
Don't know if it's really considered an app spree but when I began in middle 2018 rebuilding my credit I got 8 credit cards, 1 ssl, and 1 personal loan to start my journey.
Most iv done is two cards a bit too close to each other in one year... should have waited longer between them ....

It could very well be, if you had bunched some of the applications within a short time window.

my golden years probably were 2016-2017
. Its much easier to get credit cards with less debt lol![]()
I did this one a month ago:
@CreditBones wrote on Oct 8:Yesterday morning I was sitting at an overall $13k CL.
Yesterday at 2:00pm - NFCU SSL $5k approval
Yesterday at 2:30pm - Disco It CB $5k approval
Today at 1:30pm - My wife req'd $8k CLI on AMEX BCP to which I am AU, approved.
Just now - Apple Card $5k approval...
36 hrs. later I am sitting at an overall $36k CL... 👏🏼😳
On Oct 21 I asked for a CLI on the WF VISA, and they granted $700 SP.
Yesterday, I sent a recon letter via certified mail to Amex, for the Cash Magnet.
Today, I am toying with the idea of app'ing for a QS via a pre-approval package I received on the mail.
*THIS NEEDS TO STOP [before 1/1/21... lol]*

I haven't gone on app spree's as much as I have either went online and was like "let me see what happens" or in the case of my USAA card, I think I was on the phone with them about my car insurance and they asked if I needed anything else and asked to be transferred over to the credit cards and then applied over the phone with them.
I guess I like rolling the dice and seeing what happens most of the time. I know there are cards that I would like to have at some point in the future but I need to make sure my profile will be good before going after it (I'm looking at you AMEX)

I normally cap myself at three apps per spree. Maybe I'm limiting myself but I don't want to appear too desperate to lenders lol
