CA/ PFD

On July 20th I sent a PFD letter to CBCS for a medical bill that happened to me in 2002. It has been over a month and did not hear anything back so I called and checked in to see if they recieved the PFD letter. The CA agent told me that her company would not agree to my PFD letter and that I would be better off paying the bill in full (yeah fat right). I told het that the I was not interested in paying the bill if it was not deleted from my all 3 of my credit reports. So then she fattened up the deal and wanted to have me pay 50 cents on the dollar. Once again I told her that I was only interested in paying the bill if it was deleted from my credit report. So now she is getting very upset that I'm not giving in to her way so she can reach her quota. She reminds me that this bill will stay on my credit report for 7 years. In wich I replied it will only stay on for 2 more because 7 years have already passed. Then she got smart and stated that they would passed "resoled" to another CA. Then I stated then it will be disputed since the SOL will have passed on the bill. I guess beating her at her own game really pissed her off. You could tell taht she was not happy. I kindly asked her if I could speak to a supervisor and of course there where no supervisors on duty. So I stated that I would call back on Tuesday then she stated that she was a supervisor and I would only be able to deal with her. Seeing as how she is all of a sudden a supervisor, I asked her for her name and title which got me complete silence for 30 seconds with a response that went something like this "since you are going to be ignorant and not be responsible for you bill you have a good weekend". I stated that I would and I looked forward to our conversation next week. Since then I have sent a letter for debt validation. I will keep everyone posted on the outcome.

Re: CA/ PFD

I love to hear stories of CA's made to look stupid. They are all scum as far as I'm concerned.

Re: CA/ PFD

Well I may have just caught a break. My sister just told me the original
hospital that reported the acct to a CA is currently merging with another hospital.
So hopefully my file is boxed away and they will not be able to find it at all.

I sent a DV letter, hopefully this get rid of these guys for good.

I just recieved a new credit report and it stated that the TL was in dispute.

Keep you updated.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!

I really like how you handled the situation, and I think that's good that you're disputing it.    Just like a bully, the CA agent backed down when you stood up to her.

Don't bother dealing with them verbally.  You won't get anywhere.  CAs make their money in huge commissions, so they're going to fight you tooth and nail so they can collect.   If you would have agreed to pay the 50 cents on the dollar deal, that CA would become your friend suddenly. Smiley Wink

Your best bet is to continue written correspondence only with them.  If they don't respond to you, don't worry about it.
