CA continues to call

One CA called my work place and after a lengthy conversation, I told them they could not call my work anymore. It appears they complied with my request for about two weeks and then started calling again yesterday. Today, they called twice and I told them I already said not to call here. I know by law that they are suppose to comply with my request.

At this point, what can I do? I have saved two voicemails from this CA so far.

Re: CA continues to call

Write them a letter and tell them not to call your work that your boss does not allow it.  If they continue, document each time they call, send them an ITS.

Re: CA continues to call

Guiness is correct.  I would send them a cease and desist letter, ceritified.  Most CA's will take a verbal over the phone but some follow the law and require that it is in writing.  However this will not stop them from calling any other numbers they have for you.  Good luck.

Re: CA continues to call

Write up a cease and desist letter and send it certified.  After you have confirmation that they received it and they call then you have a great case and they can be fined $1000 each violation per FDCPA.  Some of the CA's are stupid enough to continue to call after your cease and desist letter.

Re: CA continues to call

Unless this debt is beyond SOL and you are not worried about being sued, do NOT send a cease and desist.

Do send a letter stating no calls at work, but don't send a full cease and desist because then they have 1 option left-- file suit.

Re: CA continues to call

Just want to add, when you write to them asking them not to contact you at work, just add that they should feel free to contact you at your residence through mail or phone details of which are provided below. Just so those sleazy CAs dont try and use it against you in anyway. Also dont use the words 'cease and desist' in any context.

Re: CA continues to call

Go online and change your work number to your home number...I've done that now with everything. I don't want calls at work so I don't give them my work number.

Re: CA continues to call

Thank you, everyone! I will write a letter stating I do not want them to call. The calls have actually stopped, for the time being. I think the call is coming from an outsourced call center because I've told a CA before (not the same one) long time ago not to call my work place and they stopped it immediately so this particular person may not be aware of the laws here. Anyhow, thanks for the guidance everyone. I really appreciate it!
