CA request for information

I recently disputed an entry on my CR. The CA is Midland - today I received a letter from them asking me for any documentation I may have to substantiate my dispute. Since the reason for my dispute was that this acouont is not mine - why would they send me a letter asking for any documentation I may have, such as cancelled checks, paid letters, etc?

Re: CA request for information

They are asking you to do their job. The proof of the alleged account needs to be from them, not you proving it doesn't exist. Otherwise, it has to be deleted. Hopefully someone here has some idea of how to proceed further. It sounds to me like they don't have what is needed to verify and should be deleted.

Just an idea, but maybe they are hoping you will respond with information they can use.  Since you disputed that the account is not yours, do'nt they need to be the ones proving it belongs to you?  How crazy is that? I've heard that Midland is a bad ca.
