CA's reporting (AFNI)

Hello  everyone. I've been on the boards for a while but never posted. I had a question regarding several CAs reporting on the same debt? Are they allowed to do this?  Is there any way I can have one remove it so it's only being reported once?

Also, does anyone know much about AFNI - Bloom - I have a charged off account that's in collection with them from an old cable bill. But not only are they reporting that they are reporting 2 other items on my CR. Should I just DV all three and make them tell me what each are for?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: CA's reporting (AFNI)

Sorry but more info. is needed from you.

What is your SOL?
What is the DOFD or DOLA on the bills?    Are they within or past SOL.

If within SOL a simple dispute could cause them to file a lawsuit.

If the amount is low it would cost them too much money to go to court but it might not stop them.

Re: CA's reporting (AFNI)

Happy, I am in TX - SOL 4 years.  The DOFD on on the cable bill was 9/21/05, no activity since 12/27/05.

The amounts are
1- $276
2 - 329
3 - 133

All three state that they are with Charter Communications but I only owe them $276 and I have confirmed this with them. I have no idea what the 329, and 133 is. I sent a dispute letter to the CRA's and they all came back verified??  I'm so lost. I just dont know where to start.

Re: CA's reporting (AFNI)

IMO, I would DV them. Have them tell you what each one is, and whether or not they are valid. The 329 could be with the interest tacked on from AFNI-but then I don't think they shouldnt have the original listed.... I have had good success with PFD'ing Afni, so if it comes back validated, for one of them maybe try sending a PFD when you can to get it deleted.

Send the DV CMRRR and keep track of everything and the 30 day time frame.

Re: CA's reporting (AFNI)

You are still within SOL   because of the dispute they know that you are aware of it. Be ready to pay.

Send all CAs  a DV  CMRRR

Do a search for "AFNI" as there is a multitude of available information.

Re: CA's reporting (AFNI)

Thanks. I'm going to get those DV letters out to AFNI this week.  I doubt that they can validate two of the accounts. I have no IDEA what they are myself. So we shall see. Thanks for the advice. Smiley Wink

Yeah these small collections that are within SOL I'm aware of and ready to pay ONLY if they accept a PFD. Thanks Happy!
