CAP1 FRAUD ALERT

I got an email this morning about 2 chargers on this nice card. I had not used this card since FEB. of 2013.  On AUG 29 2013 I charged a small amount at Wal-mart then $113. at a VET for the cat. So far so good. The two charges in question (1) a petco out in California  and (1) from Russia to something named (KRUGLOV). My MY was I shocked. Funny thing the vet and staff are from Eastern Europe. Thank you CAP1 for they did NOT authorize those charges. Just got home changed ALL log in info for ALL accounts. Am filling police report  hope they do something. Checked credit reports and nothing so far. Hope this was the extent. CAP1 cancelled that card and is sending out a new one.

Re: CAP1 FRAUD ALERT

why was this thread moved? If this isn't credit card related I do not know what is.

Because it deals with more than just a CC.

Re: CAP1 FRAUD ALERT

I had the same experience a little over a year ago. I even knew who had "borrowed" my card. When I filed the police report they kindly informed me it was not high on their list of priorities and since Capital One had blocked one of the charges and refunded the other and I had not actually suffered a loss there would be no future action. I gave the report number to Capital One anyway as they had asked me to file it.
