Help!

About a yr ago I started working with a debt settlement company.  I began paying them monthly payments and I had 3 accounts that were legally settled for less than the actual balances.  However, my biggest account/balance was just charged off completely.  I don't think I should have to continue to pay this settlement company a monthly fee since they did not do their job and continue negotiations with the CC company.  I am wondering if I have any options available to me regarding this account or do I have to live with this BIG charge off on my credit report for the next 7-10 years????

pediRN, I can't answer your question but  I would call your AGs office and ask. If the person can not help, ask to speak to someone that handles this type of crap.

This is a hot topic in all states. It goes hand and hand with the credit repair busness.

Also file a complaint www.ftc.goc   You will not get an answer as they compile a list of these companies & will go after them for violations.

On the accounts that were settled....did you pay the amount or did the settlement company pay.
