It was a no go!

Thank you for your authorization to correspond via email!
While we certainly appreciate your situation and your desire to improve
your credit score, Credit Management has an obligation to report accurate
information to the credit bureaus about the collection accounts we've
worked. To comply with that obligation, we notified the bureaus of your
payment in 2006, so that they could reflect that it had been paid in full
as of that time. But, we do not remove paid items from the reports, as if
they never happened. To do so would paint a false picture for creditors
who rely on the credit reports to make informed decisions about extending
credit. On the other hand, if an account was placed for collection in
error (in other words, it never was a past due account, or it was not that
person's responsibility), then we would be obligated to remove it from the
credit bureaus.
In this case, the trade line on your credit report correctly shows that you
paid the amount in full, after it was placed for collections.
If you have further questions, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Nelson K. Wilson
