CMRRR - PFD - Undeliverable

I recently sent a letter to a collection company that is appearing on my CBRs.  The letter was the PFD that Tuscani has linked and I sent it CMRRR.  I just received notification that the letter was undeliverable.  I used the address listed on the CBR and am not sure what my next steps should be.  Any assistance that you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

Kind regards,
Samantha

What's the name of the CA? Google is our friend.

Also, each CR lists that CA's address. Look to see if there are other variations.

BTW, Welcome to these forums!

Re: CMRRR - PFD - Undeliverable

Thanks so much for the welcome!  Smiley Happy

The information that I have is as follows:
United Collection Bureau
16 S. Monroe Street
Monroe, MI 48161-6999

As you said Google certainly is our friend, and here is the website that I found for them through the wonders of Google! http://www.ucbinc.com/index.html
This link http://www.ucbinc.com/officelocations.html shows their locations.  None of which seem to be in Monroe, Michigan.  I suppose my next step would be to send the letter to their corporate office?

The item is not reported in TransUnion, Equifax does not list an address and Experian is the only one who is listing the item.

Thanks again!
Samantha

Re: CMRRR - PFD - Undeliverable

I found a couple recent docs online that point to another business at the Monroe address. They probably moved sometime recently. A chimney cleaning biz is located there.

I would send it to their corp. HQ, in OH I guess. Good Luck!

Personally, I would send a DV first just so they can verify the acct, the balance and the address.

Thanks so much for the info!  I'll try to DV their corp headquarters and see where that leads!

Whew ... the mid to high 600s seem lofty right now!

Lots of hard work, diligence and persistence might actually lead me there!  Thanks for the encouragement!

Re: CMRRR - PFD - Undeliverable

Only DV the address on your CR!!!!!   It is up to the CA to update ALL information!

Send a copy of the DV letter  copy of the CERT paper and copy of the GG  to all CRAs  reporting

Dear CRA,
I recently attempted to contact a collection agency XXXXXX on my credit report #XXXXXXXX at the address listed on the credit report. The letter I sent via USPS CMRRR has been returned to me undeliverable because the company “forwarding address expired, return to sender”. The CA doesn’t exist in that address mentioned in my Credit report. I have included a copy of both sides of the envelope for your review.
As you are well aware, under 15 U.S.C. § 1681i of the FCRA, as well as numerous other places, you are required by federal law to report only accurate information. You have violated my civil rights by repeatedly reporting inaccurate information when I request my credit report, and when lenders view my report. This is a violation of federal law that I have a right to seek remedy for from the courts as it has caused me damage in how I am viewed by lenders, and terms of loans received.
I demand that within five days of receipt of this letter that the negative trade line associated with this complaint be deleted from my file, as required by the FCRA. If this demand is not met, I will be filing grievances with the Attorney General, and the Federal Trade Commission.
I have included copies of my identifying information to prove my identity. I look forward to an expedient conclusion to this issue.
Sincerely,

Re: CMRRR - PFD - Undeliverable

I just had this same problem today and was wondering what to do. Thanks for the info! What do you mean by CERT and GG? (I checked the Common Abbreviations and they weren't on there)

Has anyone that has done this before had success with the CRA deleting the baddie or do they come back saying to try to track down their correct address?

Also, if I fax the info to the CRA is there a way that they will respond or would it just fall off my report? Should I include my mailing address, telephone, fax, or email address in the letter?

Re: CMRRR - PFD - Undeliverable

I too had a PFD sent CMRRR returned to me saying address not known. The piece of the green slip that someone signs in missing though, just the part with my info stuck to the letter. When i checked about it online it said it had been signed 4 on 2-22. I am assuming it is a postal error? Anyway I used the address on my CR. It is for a lease I had ,DOLA was 6-03 for $713, I just wanted it to go away because they are keeping it new @ 120 days late 54 times! No CA it is the OC. So do I need to send a DV to the same address? And do you send that CMRRR?
