CO amount

Hi MyFico,

Does it matter how much the CO is?  Will a $1 CO have less or no impact as compared to a $10k CO?

Re: CO amount

It depends upon what "impact" you are referring to.

Scoring wise, the impact of a CO is the same regardless of amount.

However, upon a manual review, the amount of the CO could be a factor in a lending determination, particularly if the debt remains unpaid.

Re: CO amount

This is why I'm a fan of having the balance paid at least, when it's all said and done. I always feel like a lender will make decisions possibly when looking at the status of a debt. You never know.

Re: CO amount

You want removal, if possible.  It's never just about score but a low enough score can get you ruled out.
