I have a charge off that is listed on all three CRs - problem is the dates they are to fall off:
EXPERIAN 4\2008 (yeah!) for the CA - the OC doesn’t show a DOFD or state when it should drop off, but shows “charge off as of JUL 2002 -- 150 days as of JUN 2002.
TRANSUNION - CA “estimated date that this item will be removed - 06\2008
OC “estimated date that this item will be removed - 08\2008
EQUIFAX - CA - DOFD 07\01
OC - DOFD 02\02 ---- No estimated date for them to be removed.
Anybody have any idea why the credit agencies have an earlier fall off than the original creditor?
Any suggestions what I could do to get the dates more all in line on all the reports - I’m ok with TU and with the CA drop off date, but would like to get the OC date more in line w/ the CA date - Same with EQ.
Should I do anything, or just leave it alone and let time take its course? I’m trying to improves my credit in order to buy a house in about two years.
I sent of PIF for PDF letters this morning for my other 5 baddies. I think I might have luck with four of them - the other one I don’t think I have a chance in hell (TXU - utility), but it won’t hurt to try.
I am at about 95% utilization on my credit cards, but will have them paid down to 1 - 5% within the next three months. When this happens - and especially if I’m successful with 4 of the 5 PFDs do you think I will see a large increase in my scores? I’ve paid everything on time, with absolutely no dings on my credit for the past three years.
Any comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
