CREDIT STUCK ON SAME SCORE FOR 5 MONTHS

Hello All,

In the past two years I managed to get rid of a significant amount of debt that came from credit cards alone.  I brought my score from 515 to 642 but for the past 6 months it has been stuck on 626.  I've never owned a car, or a house and I have only one credit card I am using and I am also on my brother's American Express card which is in good standing but has a large balance.

Question is; how the hell can I get it to keep going up...  I need credit to get a house or car and i need a car or house to raise my credit right!?  What are other options...  Anyone know?

Thanks!

Re: CREDIT STUCK ON SAME SCORE FOR 5 MONTHS

having just the one card can sometimes make it difficult to raise your credit scores, because everything depends on just that one card (ignoring the AU card for now).  so if you can, & if you have no negatives on your credit reports, you might want to try getting a second card, maybe even just a store card, to help you out.  also, if the AU card balance is just going up, up, & up, then you should take yourself off of the account, because it is going to hurt you.
