and increase of score of more than 100 points (thanks to all of you guys), I am now facing the possibility of going back to where I am positioned before: embarrassing score, due to unemployment. Grrr!

Any advice how to keep up with the bills on time of crisis. I have been paying my bills at least 10-20$ more than the minimum required, but am afraid that my savings will run out soon and may end up with unpaid.

Should I start contacting my creditors now and closing my accounts or request for lower interest. I am depressed!

Re: CRISIS

Time to hunker down. Sorry you are going through that.

I'd revert to the minimum pmts and stop using your CCs.

I'd call and request lower APRs.

Get on a written budget. Cut your expenses (cable, dining out, fun, entertainment, hobbies, etc. temporarily) and increase your income (find a job, second job, third job, etc.). Sell stuff around the house. Cut into savings.

Re: CRISIS

Another suggestions is NOT to do a balance transfer, unless it is zero percent interest, no or very low fee, and you can pay it off within the "free" time period.

Hang in there, pick up pennies, and think positive thoughts!!  And ONLY positive thoughts!!
