Re: CSC unfreakbelievable

How exactly does this work, anyway?  Does CSC just do all the legwork and then relay the info on to EQ?  Or doesn't EQ even see any of the info from CSC?  Anytime I get a report in the mail from "EQ", it actually comes from CSC.  I actually kind of like that even though it is typically a slower process than TU and EX.  The CSC reports are much easier to read and give a lot more details regarding DOFD and DOLA, etc. compared to TU and EX.  Also, I have had MUCH better luck with deletions when I have had to dispute with CSC--perhaps it has something to do with the extra processing time making it more difficult for creditors to respond with verification within the 30 day window.  I just recently tried the online CSC dispute for the first time, though, and I have not been nearly as impressed with that as I was with the online disputes for TU and EX.

Mymy, were these CAs and inquiries yours? If so, were they reporting accurately? Publicly reminding everyone that disputing accurate TLs (baddies included) violates our Credit Repair Discussion Guidelines, Terms of Service, and User Guidelines that prohibit the promotion of certain types of credit repair.

Re: CSC unfreakbelievable

llecs,

i think you are misunderstanding my remarks...CSC takes (at least my file) 45 or more days for the investigation to be completed...(more than EX, TU) however, i think they actually look at all the supportive documentation that i send in as well as actually"investigate." and delete/correct INACCURATE  TL's on my credit file.

Re: CSC unfreakbelievable

CSC Credit Services actually "OWNS" your file, if you are in certain states.  They are not a division or part of EQ, they are a separate company that survived the national roll up of credit bureaus over the past 20 years.  Initially, way back in the day, there were affiliated or associated "local credit bureaus" that dealt with local businesses.  These bureaus shared information with each other for out of region inquiries or national accounts.

However, in the modern times, most of the locals went out of business and the large modern versions are those who either merged, bought up and/or rolled up the smaller ones and took the place of local bureaus with what we know and love today - the big 3 (tongue in cheek).

CSC Credit Services "survived" and actully operate in only a regional portion of the USA.  They cooperate and contract with EQ to provide the beneficial use of the CSC Credit Services databases to EQ.  I am sure there is a "non-compete" agreement too....meaning that CSC does not want EQ to attempt to move in on the CSC turf and compete directly.

So, EQ gets to use CSC Credit files and CSC Credit gets to continue to do business in their contracted regional area without EQ moving in and taking over directly.
