I'm wanting to buy a house and after years of being credit free, I need to generate a score.

Hello everyone.  There reason I joined myfico forums is because I am looking to drastically change my credit score. I am  a recent college graduate and my credit score is horrible due to credit cards, collections, and charge off accounts. I am here to gain knowledge on how to increase my scores. All help is appreciated. I will post my actual numbers in a few days. From the looks of it I think this forum will help me out a lot.

...and as far as Experian goes, I just got my score today through Discover card's Credit score watcher. It gave me an up to date Experian score and report.

Had a tough year.    700 two years ago, 491 earlier this year, now 519 and climbing (if they ever update my accounts!)

My GMC SUV was totalled and now I find dealers wanting to not only charge me 20% interest, but also jack the sale price from advertised $17k to $20k becuase of my credit.  That's just wrong! 

This Forum has been awesome.  It has helped not only address this short term situation as quickly as possible, but also put a plan in place for long term credit health!  700 here I come!
