Can I Dispute This? - Collection Agency is not available...

Hey Everyone!

I have a quick question. There is a collection on record on my equifax report. but all the information that they have on the account is really weird. It does not make sense.

This is what it has on my credit report for the collection:

The collection agency "291ya00000" was hired to collect a debt of $32 originally owed to "Not on Record" on account number "XX5391".

This might well be a medical collection. Due to HIPAA privacy regulations, medical collections are frequently disguised with all that 291ya00000 stuff.

I have an old collection acct that shows on EQ through SW as a weird number, but on EQ through freecreditreport.com it shows as GC Services.  Maybe you can try looking at your report elsewhere, or maybe write to EQ and have them supply it?
