Can a company take a negative action if you send them a DV letter for a paid account?

I have a CO paid account I am planning to send a DV letter to, to see if they would be willing to delete it.

Has anyone ever heard of a company choosing to "stick it" to somebody, i.e. start reporting all the lates, if they arent already, etc. for the boldness of sending out a DV?

Thanks.

When is it scheduled to fall-off?  When were the 'lates'?  Seems if they don't remove and then add the lates - you would get a double whammy -  and you really can't DV an OC (they don't have to reply).

Perhaps a GW to remove would be the better course of action.

Yeah I wouldn't DV on a paid account, I would send a GW letter to see if they'd be willing to delete it, since it's paid.

the reason i ask is that i did the oasis program from amex, and ive read others here, who wrote dv letters after having paid in full, and amex agreeing to delete the account...

is this untrue/risky?

right now the amex reports under a reference number, and has no late payments reported, though it still says paid chargeoff 0 balance

Have you already received the new Optima?

Mine hasn't begun reporting yet, but I've read that once it does, the old charge-off information disappears and is replaced with a new TL.

Concorduser can tell you more about this if you post your question in the credit card section of the forums.
