I am trying to use the equifax dispute process but i see that i need a reference number to do so, would this info have been on the ScoreWatch data? I had scorewatch for a month but just cancelled it, i thought i could have at least pulled the info i had already paid for but it appears you lost access to all of it once you cancel the subscription.
Lastly, is there any way to get a equifax report online if you have been denied in last 60 days or given less favorable terms based on the info in the report like you can do on experian's website? I am not able to retrieve my free yearly report for whatever reason.
Thanks
Equifax is kind of weird.when it comes to reports from annual credit report or free ones when denied credit, they can't do it online and will have to send it to you via snail mail, but if you want to buy credit report and score from them they have no problems taking your money and giving you report online instantly.
That's my experience at least.
Yes this echos my experience. Does anyone know if the myFico product called "Score Watch" has a credit report reference # included with that data, or would i have to go for the 19.99 credit report option? I know ScoreWach shows the info from the credit report, just unsure if it has the reference # necessary to file a dispute online or not.

If you want to dispute sonetung on your report from score watch it sends you back to Equifax site. So you are stuck in that loop again. You can try and talk to somebody at EQ that may be your best bet

Thanks for the reply. Are you a ScoreWatch Subscriber? I just cancelled mine, didnt realize i lost access to the data. I know it links you to the Equifax site but on the MyScore page when you view your report is there a "10 Digit Confirmation Number" listed anywhere that you can key in on the Equifax page, or does myFico not put that number on the MyScore page? Thanks again

yeah i use scorewatch atm. I couldn't find anywhere on my report for the "10 digit confirmation". On equifax site the " 10 digit confirmation number" isn't required, the problem is they can find my credit report, but when i try to enter in the "confidential" information to verify its me. They say its incorrect, even though i am 100% sure i put in the correct information.
The funny thing about this whole thing is if you buy an report thru them , they have no issues getting you an credit report on the spot. That is pretty fishy/scammy to me, but whatever i guess. you have to play their game to get what you want.

I am going to answer this backwards, adressing your last statement first. I had the same thing happen at one point, except even when i paid i could not retrieve it, it still wouldnt verify my info properly.....came down to addresses being wrong, namely the difference in how we call the city vs what the post office uses....less about the info being "correct" than it is about the info matching what they have....because that dictates what is "correct" naturally.
Okay thanks, if there is no confirmation number when you click on credit report under MyScorewatch there is no reason for me to sign back up. When you say the 10 digit confirmation number isnt required on the equifax site are you referring to it not being required to pull your report or to dispute info? It certainly appears to be required for disputes, it tells you it needs it and otherwise there is no way to pull your info to dispute anything unless you buy a report basically. If you click get started on their dispute page its the first field it tells you to populate. Are you saying you can actually get away without entering that number and it will still find your report?
I too am tired of it all but its just as you said, i dont have to agree with the system to recognize its in place and play it properly.....took me a while to accept that. I just read a forum about one of the creditors on my report and man are they some evil people :/

So i tried the equifax dispute site once again, if you click the get started tab. You don't have to enter in any 10 digit confirmation number, but it was telling me my info doesn't match their records which is bs imo, but i digress. I am thinking only way you can try and dispute anything on equifax is thru direct contact via phone or snail mail. I don't know if i want to bother with that. I am just waiting for my final charge off to fall off which will happen in may probably anyway.

Same exact experience here. I guess i need to clarify. I am not saying it requires the 10 digit confirmation number as in it has an asterisk and says the field is required, i am saying like you it says my info isnt correct, but i have entered it even exactly as Quizzle shows my info as reflected in my equifax file. So that being said, as far as i am concerned the Confirmation # IS very much required, i could pay for a report and use that Conf. # and be on there disputing in seconds, and so imo thats basically a requirement, and thats what they are likely going for. Mine will fall of soon as well, like august, but still, i am ready for this to be gone.
Yea I agree EQ can be an pain in the butt to deal with. According to the CR on quizzle it says my last CO is supposed to fall off 5/2014. I wanted to try and see if EQ would remove early. It seems like its an awful lot of work to get an hold of EQ. I can wait two months or so, and hope they remove it.
