I can't understand why this is happening. My Primis debit card and Affinity FCU dc #: 3 are not getting accepted through the Amazon Prime Store Card automated payment system. I have not gotten ahold of Affinity yet but both Primis and Synchrony says the accounts aren't blocked. Synchrony did say they only take one phone payment per day (which I did from Affinity dc #: 1) but if that were the case the automated system usually tells me so and wouldn't have proceeded to take another payment.
Because Primis offers 50 cent rewards on each transaction I used it 5 different times this month to pay Synchrony.:
$1.55 on 12/7
$1.11 on 12/14
$6.47 on 12/19
$8.23 on 12/20
$6.35 on 12/21
Attempted to pay $6.25 on 12/22 but did not go through. A $3 PayPal deposit balance transaction went through however. That same day right after I also paid the same $6.25 on my Affinity FCU debit card #1 which went through.
Attempted to pay $13.05 today on 12/28 but wasn't accepted by the automated system. Also attempted to pay $125.65 on Affinity dc #3 but that didn't get accepted either but earlier on the 25th with that same card it went through for $874.35. I tested that card with PayPal as well and the $1 went through so with all this data so far I know its not the card itself being blocked.
A CSR at Synchrony told me she thought it was because of more than 1 same day payments but I don't think that's what's happening here. My guess is the internal Synchrony system is flagging those cards as suspicious. Any thoughts?
I'm trying to get that balance down to 0 in order to increase my scores for my upcoming credit card spree. I normally don't make that many payments in a month. There also was:
$13.57 on 12/6 paid by OnPath FCU dc
$14.77 on 12/8 paid by OnPath FCU dc
$6.24 on 12/9 paid by OnPath FCU dc
$567 on 12/26 paid by Affinity dc #1
$1,000 on 12/27 paid by Affinity dc #2
$229.74 on 12/28 (today) paid by Affinity FCU #1
Which makes 13 total debit payments this cycle (no other types). I guess worst case scenario if after the billing cycle closes on Jan. 2nd or 3rd for Synchrony's Amazon card, I could try making a test payment of new charges with those debit cards and if they still don't work, close those debits out as reported lost and reissue new ones. I probably made too many payments with Primis but that doesn't make sense for the 3rd Affinity cashback card as that was the only 2nd payment attempt. To be on the safe side I think I'll just wait for my money to be transferred combined from other banks rather than pay as it comes in from now on. OnPath I was trying to make the minimum amount of transactions but I have an alternative to meet that. What could be blocking those cards?
Update: I was able to pay $124.65 using Affinity FCU dc #3 just a little bit ago. Weird. It may have been due to a 3 day hold with that same merchant so I'll see tomorrow if that's the same case with Primis.
I could barely stomach getting through the 10-15 debits to get a higher APY on accounts like affinity's 5.5% checking, big props to all of the people that can earn everything they can through these cashback debits, hopefuly your payments will continue being able to go through for you
