Capital One did a hard pull - I did not ask for - UGH --Their Site says "No Impact to Your Credit"

This is what it says on the top of their page.

See What Cards You May Qualify for with No Impact to Your Credit -

get an alert that I have two hard pulls from Capital one.

regular cap one card and a #Capitalone #Cabelas... **bleep*

Experian says not -disputable on their page. I am calling both Experian and Capital one tomorrow morning..

anything else I should/can do to get these removed ASAP?

Did you only check the Cap1 prequal page, or did you apply for these cards as well?  Prequal, which I don't believe is available for the Cabela's card, would have been an SP w/ no impact on your score and is what that language refers to.  Continuing to application is an HP to each bureau for each card.

It sounds like OP began at a pre-qual page and then continued on with an app.  That's my best guess.

Hmmm.  That's odd.  It sounds like you submitted a regular application.  Capital One typically SPs one CR, not all 3 (IIRC), when using the pre-qualification tool.   There have been no reported cases by any members with getting HPs by using such method.

They will pull all 3 if you decide to pursue any pre-qualified offers, though.

prequal page only  https://www.capitalone.com/credit-cards/prequalify/

Didn't see a Cabelas card or it mentioned anywhere. Wouldn't be of any interest to me either way.

I'm familiar with the pre-qual page referenced above.  After submitting your info on that page when it lists all of the cards you're prequalified for, did you click on one of the cards?  After doing so it brings up the app for the card and it auto fills in all of the information that you already entered on the pre-qual page.  If you then submitted again it would result in an app being placed.  I would think you'd have realized that though, especially because it will ask for your income on that page where on the pre-qual page it does not.

No, it Does ask for income on the pre-qual page.

I copied and pasted it below.

Total Annual Income

$
/ Year

Alimony, child support or separate maintenance income need not be revealed if you do not choose to have it considered as a basis for repaying this loan.

Did you at least get an approval?

OP, it sounds like you were offered a pre-qualified offer and proceeded with the final step.  I just tried it for s&g's and there were naturally no offers (pre-qualification is only for 3 of their CCs which I'm aware that I wouldn't qualify for QS1, Platinum or Secured).  Therefore, there were no HPs.

I have received Nothing from Capital One.

I have only received two alerts from Experian notifying me of a credit file update and my scores dropping.
