Capital One is not reporting to Experian no matter what I do. Normally, Capital One reports to all three credit bureaus on the 8th or the 9th of each month. However, this past month (July), Capital One updated Equifax and TransUnion on the 8th of the month, but NOT Experian.
On July 29th, after Experian still had not received any information from Capital One, I called Experian and filed a dispute for my account balance.
Today, July 31st, I get a notification from Credit Karma that remarks have been added to my Captial One account on my EQUIFAX credit report, which is odd because I didn't dispute anything eith Equifax (my dispute was filed with Experian).
So, I check my Experian Credit report and there are no updates and absolutely no account remarks. Then, I check my Equifax credit report and I see the balance is still correct (as it had already been updated this cycle and didn't need anything done to it), and has the remark of "ACCOUNT PREVIOUSLY IN DISPUTE – NOW RESOLVED BY DATA FURNISHER". However, this account was NEVER in dispute with Equifax, and the dispute is not at all resolved because this update is to the wrong credit bureau.
So, I called Capital One and attempted to speak with them about how Experian wasn't updated this month and to inform them that they updated the balance on the wrong credit report at the wrong bureau, but they kept telling me that they send the info once per month and that they sent the information and it's on Experian to update it. I then asked for the exact date of the last time my balance information had been sent to Experian, but they were unable to give me one.
They told me to call and file a dispute with Experian asking for it to be updated, but I told them I already did that, and instead of updating my balance with Experian, they randomly chose to update Equifax instead.
At this point I have no idea what to do. It feels as if Capital One is refusing to update my info with Experian for some reason, and all Experian can do is request the info via dispute, but they can't actually do anything without Capital One actually sending them the information.
What do I do in this situation? How do I get this resolved? I feel so stuck and helpless. It's so frustrating and is stressing me out! Any ideas?
For me, Capital One takes about 3 weeks longer to report to Experian than either TransUnion or Equifax.
Cap One did not report to Experian for me in July either. The other two always update Cap One info within a day or so of my statement date which is the 15th for all my cards. Experian's last update on my Cap One cards was June 16th. I don't think it's a Cap One issue, though. I suspect Experian is just lazy.

Same here.
I really don't think there's anything that can be done about it. Experian is going to do what they do, regardless.
It doesn't seem to have done any real damage, but this is just another example of disputes sometimes being more likely to backfire than to help.
I just called C1 and asked why my Savor was updating with TU and EQ within 3 days of the statement cutting on the 15th but EX wasn't updating until the 6th of the next month? She said she was showing they reported it on the 18th but offered to request a mid-cycle update. I said yes and thanked her.
Slow reporting is nothing new for Capital One but this month it's pretty bad. I have cards with them that statment closed on 7/7, 7/7, 7/11, and 7/25. None of the 4have reported yet. Not concerned about the one from 7/25 since it almost never reports a balance, but the 2 on the 7th are daily drivers. My monthly 3B pull hits tomorrow and I'm fully expecting to see no updates to any of those accounts.
Are they slow reporting to all agencies?
If EQ and TU were on the same schedule I wouldn't be thinking about it. It's Experian lagging the last 2 months that makes me wonder what's going on?
SAME **bleep** SITUATION. Did you ever get this fixed? i need my balance updated on ONE account!!!!!
That’s definitely a frustrating spot to be in. From what you’ve described, it sounds like this might be a misrouting issue in Capital One’s reporting process rather than Experian actively holding anything back. Since you’ve already gone through the dispute route and it updated the wrong bureau, you might want to try filing a direct complaint with the CFPB against Capital One, that often gets escalated to a higher-level team who can manually confirm and push the correct data to Experian. You could also send a written “furnisher dispute” directly to Capital One’s credit reporting department (address listed in your credit report) explaining the timeline, the bureau mix-up, and requesting they furnish the corrected data to Experian. Documenting it in writing can help if it drags out and you need to show you’ve made good-faith efforts.
My two C1 accounts that statement closed 7/7 finally reported to EX on 8/5. Meanwhile for EQ and TU they were reported on 7/10. We'll see if this month is as bad.
