Card balance reporting delays

OK so I have basically 5 cards I am using now only 3 swith balances. Now up until about 2 weeks ago, I had some balances but recently paid them all off for the most part at that time (left some tiny balances). Anyway, the main one with the highest balance reported on June 17 of last month, but still has not updated for this month yet. Thos single card is responsible for about 20% worth of my usage %. It is hovering around 24% when it should be 8% at most. What is talking so long? The balances were(are) really hurting my score and I am trying to get a loan where I need my scores to be as high as possible. I know it won't update instantly but here I am 10 days later than it reported last month and nothing. One of the other cards I have reported on July 9th and showed up within a few days.

Re: Card balance reporting delays

No idea.  You need to investigate.  Start with the creditor.  Verify that they have reported to the CRA's.  If they have reported and it has been at least several business days since they have reported then contact the CRA(s) and see what's going on.

How are you determining what has reported?  Are you pulling reports directly from the CRA's or are you relying on a service?  If the latter then you may need to contact the service as well to determine if they're having issues.

Re: Card balance reporting delays

Sometimes calling the creditor and see if they can do a mid-cycle update should help.  Or ask them if an exception can be made for your credit file to be updated since you are waiting for the update to get a loan.

Re: Card balance reporting delays

It finally showed up today, but instead of getting a bump I got a hit on Experian? Went from 668 down to 653. TU went up from 673 to 686. I just went ahead and applied for an Amex anyway, and got approved for 6k.  It is funny because the Experian had showed the updated balances since last week (usage at 8%), the TU was the one not updated. So no clue how all that works. Then the Experian inexplicably goes down?

Re: Card balance reporting delays

I had a similar issue with my WF card taking a long time to show up as zero balance on TU  Was showing on EQ just fine. Statement date was the Jul 10  After 10 days, still nothing on TU.

In the end, I did a secure message to WF and asked them to confirm they had indeed reported to all three CRA's.

They replied that they report to all three, on the statement date.

Funny enough, two days after that message, TU updated.
