Ever since finding this place a few years ago; I have went from being scared to look at my credit scores, being denied for secured cards, and happily being prey to CreditONE to checking my reports daily, being flooded with offers, and Navy/AMEX opening up the CLI floodgates. So with that said Thanks everyone for the help and knowledge.
With a heavy heart I ask for your assistance again. After getting all of my FICO 8 scores over 700, myFICO couldn't pull my 3B. They got an error with Equifax. It was weird because I could still see a score thru 1 of my cards app. I then tried to refi my car loan thru PenFed and was denied. The reason was "We don't extend grant credit to any applicant on the terms you requested". I called and the CSR said they didn't get any CB info and it was probably because I input my name wrong, which was impossible because I just logged in and didn't have to manually input that info. So I pulled my CR from the annual site and my Equifax was literally blank just my name and address no other info.
I am confused, how could this have happened? Do I have to start over from scratch? Was my identity stolen? I'm so lost, any input would be greatly appreciated.
Dang. I'm sorry you are experiencing this... sounds like it may be a 'split file'. It happens - kinda rare but seems to happen much more often with Equifax than any other bureau.
You will need to call them. And call them again... and, probably, again. If it is, indeed, a case of a split file, the good news is you do not need to start over -- all of your info is still on record. The bad news is you'll need to spend some time on the phone having it corrected (and you'll need a ton of patience).
Here's a link to the forum's "EQ Split File" search results... you should read through and familiarize yourself with the issue and perhaps gain some insight as to the best way to handle it: EQ Split File
I'm sorry I cannot be of more help - i have personally not had to deal with this problem so unable to give any solid advice. Wishing you the best of luck and hope it gets squared away quickly.

Never heard of this but thanks so much for the info, I really appreciate it. I'm going to dig in tonight and start my battle in the morning.
Thanks again.
So I just found out the same thing happened to me. It looks like as of February 2022 everything is just GONE. No score. No perfect payment record. On the phone they tell you that they have "put in a ticket for you"

Yeah I had to do the same; I also preemptively sent them copies of my credit report from them before the split happened, with my reports from Experian and TransUnion.
I would like to think that helped but as fast as the split happened a week later my report was back and correct. They closed my ticket and the representative said when they looked my report was fine. This was the craziest thing I ever dealt with.
If not for this board, I'd still be confused. I wish yours is "fixed" as fast as mine.
So the "split file" is the official issue? Thank you for letting me know!
My EQ file "split" 12 years ago. Of course, I did the right thing and never pursued it. 🙄 In spite of my laziness, after years of having no new accounts, I financed a car and opened a card with my credit union. Lo and behold, after six months or so I had a bright and shiny but very thin EQ report with none of the negatives contained in the others.
That's my story, so yes, it happens with EQ. I wouldn't recommend doing like I did and ignoring it, though. Call them.

No the representative never used that terminology. They simply said there was a system error and they couldn't pull up my file. After being on hold "forever" they came back and said they would put in a ticket.
I sent in the credit reports, license, utility bill and SS card to show them I was real. I gave it 2 days after the USPS said it was recieved to follow up, on that call all was fine. So I know my paperwork didn't do anything but no one could explain why my report disappeared initially.

Awesome! So glad you were able to get this resolved so quickly, @Anonymous.

If I may chime in....This happened to my nephew 2 years ago. He became aware when the mortgage company could only get reports from the other 2 bureaus. Well, for a mortgage approval the borrower needs to have 3 reports. The lender told my nephew to call Equifax. Equifax had him complete several forms and provide many types of documentation to prove his identity. He did this several times. Efforts were to no avail. Weeks went by and the mortgage company intervened and was actually able to get it resolved. My nephew got his house and all 3 bureaus produce reports. Supposedly explanation from Equifax was that there had been attempted fraud or identity theft. However, there no fraudulent inquiries nor any authorized accounts opened.
