Cell phone number on credit report

My cell phone number just showed up on my Experian credit report. I'm not sure which creditor put it there, but I want it off. Is there any way to get EX to remove it?

Call Experian. Chances are it might appear again when that creditor updates your report

Re: Cell phone number on credit report

As long as it is reported by the creditor you may have a hard time getting it removed.  I made the mistake of using my cell number for an application and it was posted to my CR.  The CRAs would not remove it because it was reported by the creditor.

I had my cell number changed.

My cell phone number also shows up on my credit reports. However, it's my ONLY phone number, I don't have a wired line.  This may be the reason, and will likely become more common as the percentage of people with only cell phones has dramatically increased.

Re: Cell phone number on credit report

I just found out my home number is on my EQ report. Is there really nothing I can do to remove it and prevent it from showing up again?

Only requesting that the creditor  cease its reporting.

A dispute with the CRA will not prevail, as it is not inaccurate.

Consumer personal information is specifically exempted from the direct dispute process, so a direct dispute with the creditor can be dismissed as frivolous or irrlelvant.
