Charge Off Collection Question

I have a charge off on my report, it says charge off date Nov 2019

The Charge off is with lending club which is showing on my credit bureaus.

LC told me that United Holding Group has the account now, UHG is not showing on my credit report.

I'm guessing UHG is a 3rd party collector.

I have not received a 1099-C

Also, UHG seems to never answer their phone nor return voicemails

Any direction on the best way to go about getting the lending club reporting removed from my report would be greatly appreciated

Re: Charge Off Collection Question

Is there a balance showing with Lending Club? The answer should be no, if they say United Holding Group has the account now.

Getting Lending Club to remove the account.... Not going to happen. It's a major derogatory (Charge-off) account that will report to the credit bureaus for 7 years.

Re: Charge Off Collection Question

No balance showing, just says they sold it to another party.

Ok well I'll have to get creative then, there are consumer laws I could use, but I was just checking to see if there were any other suggestions.

Odd enough, I got i removed off of my equifax when I disputed it but the other 2 bureaus left it on.

Re: Charge Off Collection Question

Welcome @creditaz77

I've been all over their website. I cant find the verbage they are a collection agency trying to collect on a debt. Just the phone number to call or you may try contacting the Chief Compliance Officer. Their submit form for that position is on the website. The CFPB took actions via a lawsuit against them last Jan for violating collection laws. You may file a complaint with the CFPB if you cant get thru that your trying to pay your debt but cant get any responce from them.

Re: Charge Off Collection Question

It's possible that Lending Club verified the reporting with the other two but not with Equifax.  Note that as long as Lending Club is reporting accurate information, it is under no obligation to delete any or all of its entry.

Re: Charge Off Collection Question

 Yes, that could be why.
