Charge off

Hey guys long time visitor… I am getting ready to buy a home thanks to this forum I have did some positive credit repair, Thanks! I have two old charge-off accounts that’s due to fall off in two months. Both were MBNA now brought out by BOA. Can a collection agency try to collect?

Thanks J

Re: Charge off

A JDB can always try to collect - the question is do they have any way to legally collect (if past SOL then no).  If someone tries to collect in two years DV them and then send a FO&D letter  More than likely they will not even respond to the DV - they prey upon the ill-informed.

This close to fall-off --- leave them just drop then app for you mortgage.

Re: Charge off

Seven years, my credit report states that it would be on record until 3/2008.

Re: Charge off

Check SOL for your state  7-7.5 years is CRTP (Credit Reporting Time Period).  CCs are 'open accounts'
