I tried to open a total checking with Chase online for the $200 bonus one week ago. I filled out the form and tried to fund the account with an external checking (NFCU). Yet, I received the two deposits and one withdrawal from Chase on my NFCU checking. But I don't see a checking account on my Chase, only my Chase credit card accounts. There is no way for me to verify those deposits. I called a Chase depository account rep and told her about the situation. She said she did not find any records of my application for the total checking. She suggested me to wait a few days for the checking account to pop up if I indeed had applied. It has been 3 days since I talked to the rep. What could have gone wrong? Should I go to a local branch to see what is going on? Will I be charged Chase total checking monthly fee in this case?
When i opened my checking I was told that I could do all the paperwork and fund the account online but it would not be up and running until I went into a branch with my ID.
Maybe this is what happened t you.

I've opened Chase checking accounts before and I've 100% not had to go into a branch as the closest one is 4+ hours away...
Well they withdrew the money. I'd be more insistent on escalating the call and get resolution. If not, ask NFCU to research who withdrew the money.
I opened my account fully online and funded it via my Capital One 360 debit card...I didnt have to go into a branch for anything. FWIW I am on my second statement and my direct deposit STILL hasnt gone thorugh for my job (hopefully this pay period it will) and I havent incurred any fees.
I did this about 6 weeks ago. Couldn't see it or figure out how to fund it once I completed the online form. Check your secure messages for a link to the new checking account. Can't remember exactly what I did, but do know that I found the link there.
