I understand annualcreditreport.com is free but it is only yearly, and being 20 and just starting to understand how credit works, I feel the need to get my FICO score more often than once a year
I have looked in the CMS guide, but I really don't want to spend 15 dollars a month, I dont need a CMS, I'm fine with CK and CS, considering they are free
any suggestions as to what I should do would be great.
I was debating getting the Walmart discover just for the TU FICO but I really don't want another hard pull and have no need for another card
If you don't want another inquiry, and you have no need for another account, why does it matter to you what your exact FICO score is?
Use CK and CS to monitor the information, and don't worry about it.
For clean reports CK is usually within 20 points of FICO. You can get the get the scorewatch trial to get your EQ for free, just make sure you cancel before the trial is over. If you get a Walmart card you get the TU08 FICO for free every month. If you join DCU credit union you can get your EQ score for free every month. If you happen to be a PA resident you can join PSECU credit union and they give you your EX FICO monthly for free. PSECU is the only way I know of to get your EX score other than a denial on a credit app that pulls EX or a mortgage pull.

Yeah, I think I am just going to deal with CK and CS and just use annual credit report and pull a different report every 4 months, annual credit report has EX FICO score right?
I already did the trail, I don't want to get the Walmart card, but I have considered it, I live in RI
what are the details for DCU, can I just start a savings account with them and get my score for free monthly? That would be great, and well worth it, because it would not be a hard pull or another account like the Walmart card
thanks for the help!
I was just chatting with a rep from DCU, and asked what I need to do to get the free FICO score, and they responded
"If you open the savings and checking account with direct deposit of your net pay along with an active loan or electronic statements you would qualify for the free score."
I will definitely be doing the future.
I already have 2 checking and 2 savings account, one of each from a local bank and one of each from USAA
would adding 2 more account affect anything? I never see checking or savings account on my credit reports but just making sure it doesn't affect anything

Annualcreditreport.com gives you only your credit reports -- no scores. Maybe you're thinking of freecreditreport.com?

no, im just new, didnt realize that, thanks for clearing that up.
I have been reading the forums about DCU and read that if you are under the age of 23 they will waive the need for DD, as that was the only thing holding me back from doing this, because I have no way of getting DD right now,
so I am chatting with someone from DCU now to see if I can become a member and get the free FICO score
I have confirmed I will be able to get a membership with DCU after a 10 dollar donation
and I have also confirmed that because I am under 23 and a student the DD requirement will be waived
but when applying for the membership there will be a hard pull on my report, and I now have to think about if a hard pull is worth the ability to get free FICO scores.
Not to argue, just to be clear...what you're deciding is if the HP is worth the ONE free FICO score...EQ I think...
