Check THIS 'DV' s*** out!

So I'm on day 28 of my DV and OC process.

One of my OC 'DV' letter (after they verified with CRA) was to HSBC, the usual letter on here (please provide all documentation on above account, etc.)

So HSBC writes me back now, on day 28;

'Please be advised that we will be unable to assist you with your dispute, if we not have the exact name of the merchant, specified date and transaction amount.

If you have any questions contact service reps bla bla.'

WTF? Are they being intentionally dense??? I specifically included the account # THEY listed on my report, let them know that I wanted all the info they had and I get this?

Now what? I can't write the CRA and say I didn't get a reply; I did. Do I call the stupid CSR and complain? Explain? Is this a trick? (I know sometimes TU does this to trick you to call to extend their window another 30 days).

Advise appreciated.

hahahahha  sounds more internationally duh

I would send another letter....As you verified a dispute with the CRAs on date , and I sent a letter asking for complete account history DATE. Which you must answer within 30 days. As to the answer that I received from you on DATE I take it that you have no records of this said account. Please delete all referance to this account within 15 days!

send it CMRRR     I have no idea what they will do BUT on day 31 they are in violation If they do not send the info.

Isn't HSBC the original creditor?  If that is the case, then their response makes sense.  You are required to dispute according to your agreement with them -- the FDCPA does not apply.
