Hey everyone, I am in the process of filling out a complaint to the CFPB about Experian, but before I can completely submit the online complaint, there is a check box at the bottom that says "I authorize and direct any consumer reporting agency to furnish a copy of my consumer report to the CFPB for the purpose of responding to and investigating my consumer complaint". It will not let me complete the complaint unless I check the box, I don't mind allowing CFPB to see my credit report, it's just that I want to make sure all of the information on my credit report is secure with the CFPB. Should I check this box and click submit?
I would not worry, I have done so several times without an issue yet.
I do not see it as anymore risk than any place you apply for credit, maybe a bit less.
