Citi reported new account in days

I was approved for the Citi Custom Cash on 6/1, first Citi account, and woke up to alerts of a new account on TransUnion this morning 6/4.  I dont even have the card yet.  

Is this normal for Citi?  or did I hit a reporting cycle sweet spot

I guess they are so excited to have me as a customer, they want to tell everyone fast.

That's standard practice for Citi, they typically do not wait until first statement to report.

Both of my Citi cards reported within 5 days of approval.
